Worst symptoms of perimenopause

hormonal cystic acne

WHY are so many of us struggling with the worst symptoms of perimenopause and menopause and no one can just give us the answers? Or your doctor just shrugs it off, tells you that it's all in your head or just a normal part of aging and then hands you a prescription for synthetic hormones, a sleeping pill and a anti-depressant?

How can it be that something that we’ll ALL go through is so misunderstood and so unsupported, with even the average doctor knowing less about this than us? Even more frustrating, why are so many of us who are successful in our careers and raising beautiful families, struggling to take care of ourselves or even FEELING like ourselves during this time of our lives, suffering through the worst symptoms of perimenopause with no support?

It’s natural to be feeling confused, frustrated and skeptical with so much information and misinformation out there…

I understand because I’ve gone through this myself. Have you as well?

My worst symptoms of perimenopause

perimenopause

In my late 40’s I suddenly gained weight ( like 20lbs of weight not 4) even though I was working out daily as a personal trainer with a pretty good handle on nutrition. I was always exhausted, I couldn’t sleep because of hot flashes (vasomotor symptoms) and I developed horrendous cystic acne. I felt stressed, anxious and moody and I craved chocolate like a crazy person. I developed sudden allergies and food sensitivities that I had never had in my life. I had bloating, nightmares and just didn't feel like myself anymore. It was all very unexpected and traumatic because no one had ever told me what to plan for at this age.

In my surveys and interviews, many ladies have told me some of their worst symptoms of perimenopause are...

- they are tired ALL the time

- they are suffering from abdominal weight gain, bloating and fatigue

  • they have mood swings and irritability
  • nothing seems to work to lose weight
  • they are suffering from depression and low energy
  • lots of bloating, gas and constipation
  • sudden rage
  • lack of sex drive
  • food sensitivities, hot flashes and sleepless nights....

But you don’t have to suffer anymore, and this is why…

I started digging into the science of our female hormones looking for a way to get better naturally. I examined all the research on how different foods and lifestyle habits influence our hormones. I spent many days and sleepless nights, hunting for answers and I made some life-changing discoveries. After 40 it's NOT just about eating less and moving more.

Our symptoms are simply a red flag, a warning signal, letting us know something isn’t right with our hormones. We need to dig deeper to understand what’s really going on, so we can treat the root cause and fix it FOR GOOD.

You are not alone, you just haven't had all the information that you need.

Instead of trying to overcome exhaustion with caffeine, carbs and sugar…

Instead of trying to get in shape by cutting calories or excessive exercising…

Instead of trying to sleep using medications…

Instead of trying to cope with a stressful day by having chocolate, chips or a glass of wine… ( or all 3!)

I needed to get to the root cause instead.

And that root cause is our hormonal imbalances.

As our ovaries start to shut down our body goes from hormonal harmony to a hormonal rollercoaster. Our hormone levels will vary dramatically from day to day and week to week. That’s why our symptoms vary so much, why we feel all over the place and why blood tests are not always reliable for diagnosing hormonal changes.

This is also why it’s important to focus on balancing our hormones. Our hormonal health depends on a delicate balance and once we restore that balance it will reduce the stress on our body. So we can go from struggling to thriving So we can go from fat storing to fat burning. So we can get back to feeling like ourselves again.

We can live our life enjoying a steady flow of positive energy all day, keeping our mind focused and sharp and easily transitioning to a deep, restorative sleep at night. Today I’m back to my happy, healthy self, living life to the full and I’m helping others do the same. My clients are full of health, energy, and confidence.

woman can't sleep

I mean literally every day! ⁣

They are up, down, all over the place.⁣ An absolute roller coaster.

So don’t let it be a surprise when your symptoms change every day.⁣

Just because you feel down or bloated one day doesn’t mean the next will be the same.⁣ Some foods have always agreed with you, now they suddenly don't. Your resting heart rate is low - now it's high. Your basal metabolic rate (morning temp) is normal, now it's tanked.

This is the time of life to get in tune with your body.⁣

To understand the symptoms and what they are telling you about YOU.⁣

To adapt your eating to how you FEEL.⁣

To learn to back off on your yo-yo dieting and hard exercise if you don’t feel 100%.⁣

To accept that you are in an introverted phase during menstruation or harness the creativity that you feel in the second week of your cycle.⁣

To allow more time for self-care and self-love.⁣ To make yourself a priority and allow yourself the space to do that.
